The most important and valuable aspect of Herion Company is our people.  For this reason safety is our top priority.  We want to set the example for other contractors that we work around whether we are the general contractor or the subcontractor, and by being the standard for safety we will have fewer jobsite injuries and loss-time accidents.  We can be identified on our jobsites by the bright safety green shirts and hard hats.  We also employ other sources to keep safety at the forefront of our minds; regular tool box talks, weekly safety topic issued with time cards, and safety audits conducted by a safety consultant.  We believe every accident is preventable and it is our goal to provide a secure work environment for those around us.

Safety is measured by the Experience Modification Rate (EMR), the industry standard for calculating workers compensation premiums.  It reflects the frequency and severity of a company’s accidents and injuries. 1.0 is the industry average. Our EMR has never exceeded 1.0 and has been consistently lower - a remarkable achievement in our industry.
