Gary L. Rummel

Gary Rummel is Operations Manager for the Herion Company.  He is responsible for bid development, estimating projects, material pricing, subcontractor procurement and bid proposals.  Once the project is awarded he prepares project schedules, submittals, subcontracts, pay requests, issues purchase orders, monitors production, and oversees the project management team through completion.

Gary was President and founder of Rummel Construction, Inc.  A business he owned and operated from 1982 through 1999.  The company had two divisions and specialized in concrete construction, fabrication and installation of synthetic liners, floating covers, wastewater treatment plants and underwater construction.  The company was licensed in seventeen states and completed projects from coast to coast as well as in Canada.  Gary sold this business in 1999 in the hopes of enjoying semi-retirement, and working as a consultant when time allowed.

After a couple of years of semi-retirement, he concluded there wasn’t enough excitement in retirement and reentered the construction business.  Gary became General Manager for Dewey Moore & Sons Contractors, a site development and utility contractor.  He was responsible for all aspects of the company including estimating, project management and the overall financial management of the company.

Gary has been active in the Springfield Contractors Association for many years and was president of the organization in 1988.  He served on the Board of Directors for ten years and continues to be involved in various committees.
